WHY DO EVANGELICAL CHRISTIANS SUPPORT TRUMP?

Trump has a messianic delusion.

·         Like Hitler, Trump believes he is on a messianic mission when he says, “I am the chosen one.” A delusion supported with religious fervor not only by more than 80 percent of white Evangelical Christians but by millions of his supporters. Even though white Evangelicals represent no more than 15% of the American population, they still account for one-third of Republicans and 15 percent of all voters. This is why Trump cannot afford to stop himself from some dog and pony shows embracing the Bible.

·         Indeed, Trump was sent by God to do great things. “I am the chosen one,” which probably explains why one of Trump’s evangelical supporters was so moved that she began speaking in tongues when she saw him kissing the Bible at a photo op in front of Lafayette Square’s St. John’s Episcopal Church.

·         The providence man concept is the belief that God has temporarily lent some of his spiritual power to a man to do extraordinary things to save humanity from some unspeakable perils. For many, Donald Trump is the man sent by God to destroy a secret cabal of blood-drinking, child-sex-trafficking members of the liberal elite. For others, Trump has been sent by God to restore white evangelical power in America in a fight of good against evil and rights against wrongs kind of war. Others are less vocal but no less influential, like the Jewish community, which sees Trump as the providence man sent by God to support Israel in the coming apocalypse.

“If you are an Evangelical Christian and believe in the power of prayers, stop praising the Lord for sending you Donald Trump as the antichrist who will bring you Armageddon and the Rapture, where you will meet Jesus in the sky. Instead, stop being selfish and pray for America instead. It needs everybody, even you.”
