CELEBRATING TRUMP'S ”BIG VICTORY” FOR SIGNING THE RELEASE OF THE EPSTEIN FILES

One of Trump’s uncanny gifts is his ability to transform, at least in his mind, a failure into a success or victory. After months of putting all his energy into blocking the release of the Epstein files, he is now taking credit for the almost unanimous Congress and Senate vote to release the files. True, following Trump’s threats against the Republicans intending to vote for the release, it had become almost impossible for them to square Trump’s demand against the wishes of their electorate without putting a big light on the fracture of the MAGA Nation.
In this alternate reality, Trump’s challenge will be to match his latest move with action. In this department, the single fact that Trump did not make a spectacle of the signing of the Files augurs nothing good for the future. In theory, the DOJ has 30 days to “make publicly available all unclassified records, documents, communications, and investigative materials. In practice, this wishful outcome will never happen for a simple reason: neither the House nor the Senate had to vote to force the release of all documents about the Epstein Files; Trump could have done it on his own, especially since the DOJ had already admitted possessing all the files. The most likely scenario is that, as per Trump’s instruction, Bondi will use the pretext of an ongoing investigation into prominent Democrats’ ties to Epstein to withhold forever any information expected by the American public.
In the meantime, now that the FBI has already removed from the files more than 1500 references to Donald Trump, in the FBI’s Winchester, VA facility, it is very busy doing the same to references made to any Republicans.
IT REMAINS TO BE SEEN IF MAGA WILL STILL APPRECIATE THE LATEST MOVE
