ARE AMERICANS REALLY READY TO MOVE ON PAST THE UNDEMOCRATIC GAME OF MUSICAL CHAIRS OF A TWO-PARTY POLITICAL SYSTEM?

The last US presidential election for which a majority of American voters did not relish the prospect of a Trump-Biden rematch was, for independent voters, a golden opportunity to advance the American experiment with democracy. The fact that at that moment in time, not even a whisper of that possibility was ever uttered by any politician speaks volumes about the chances for America ever to become a true democracy. On the contrary, The Second Coming of Trump 2.0 points towards a direction that most Americans don’t even phantom to happen.
A pseudo or an Illiberal Democracy is a political system that calls itself democratic, but offers no real choice for the citizens.
Even if America is not quite there yet, many people are putting the United States in the same pack as Hungary, Slovakia, India, Turkey, and the Philippines, with the worst yet to come.
As of 2025, according to the Economist Democracy Index, the United States, the greatest country on Earth, is defined as a FLAWED DEMOCRACY, ranking in 28th place, right before Chile and after Malta.
